Our education system is outdated and in a rut. It has been this way for the latter part of the previous century.
It was designed to train factory workers. People who could sit in one place for eight hours and follow instructions. It was designed to train people how to obey the rules. If you didn’t obey the rules you were punished.
One of the biggest problems with school is that we were taught how to memorise things. We were never taught how to learn things. As long as we could remember a bunch of random facts, we were golden.
This becomes more evident later in life when learning is no longer something that can be done by rote. It’s not impossible, but it might just be more difficult.
This is when we need to pretty much teach ourselves the best way to learn something. There is no “one size fits all” solution to the learning problem. I don’t think there’s even a “one size fits most” solution.
However, anything worth doing is never easy.
