Collins dictionary defines flotsam and jetsam as small or unimportant items that are found together, especially ones that have no connection with each other.

This collection of writings will be the flotsam and jetsam in my brain. The useless unimportant bits fragmented off bigger thoughts.

I often struggle with this business of introducing myself to new people. Whether it be people I meet in real life, or people I make acquaintance within an online setting.

This is most likely the 700th blog that I have started. My first one is probably around somewhere, since I have forgotten the username and password, never mind not having the same email address anymore. I loathe introductions, whether spoken or written, as much as I loathe writing about pages. Online bios are another prickly point altogether, where I rather opted for the bulleted list and called it a day.

I have been in two minds about starting this particular one, since everyone has an opinion about what one puts out into the world. Worrying is my natural state, therefore I tend to worry too much about people’s opinions. Whether it be about how I am, my photography, and now putting this out into the world.

I have split myself so much about starting, or not starting another blog, that it has taken me over a week to get going. I get fiddling about with the themes and the layout, that I was in effect in danger of just packing it in altogether. It would have not made it out the hangar, never mind onto the runway.

There is no set topic around these parts. I will share my thoughts and opinions on various subjects. I might even throw in a few posts of what I am learning, whether it be in the field of IT, Business Intelligence, or just whatever I am learning in general.

I could just post most of this to social media, however I have come to find social media often to be quite vile in their disregard of other’s opinions. One cannot always shy away from the vileness, but I do try my best to avoid it. Life is often shit enough, we do not need more of it to be totally frank and honest.

  1. Due to people being muppets, I must state that the opinions stated here are all my own and are not necessarily shared by my employer. I will not say who my employer is, but it will not be too hard to find.
  2. I do not have affiliate links. If I do link to a product then it is a product or service that I have used, paid for, and really believe in. If this ever changes, I will make sure to let everyone know beforehand.
